Body Sculpting, Body Casting, Life Casting, Monique Lester, Art, ArtistBody casting is also known as body sculpting or life casting.

The process involves using various materials to create a mould of a body part which can then be made into a sculpture using resins, or plaster.

The moulding process enables a reproduction of a body part as a three dimensional sculpture or work of art. Small casts of one body area can be made and can be extremely beautiful as a piece of art for your home.  It is also possible to cast a couple together or for you to have an individual cast made of your whole body.

The finished product in plaster can be mounted for display on a wall or for larger sculptures, as a free standing art feature. Plaster casts can be painted and decorated, with textures and colours of your choosing or left beautiful and white.

Life casting is very detailed, with goose bumps, pores all manner of skin detail being reproduced exactly. Casts can be of a small body part – a pregnant belly, a foot or hand. This is a great idea if you have a new baby, want to remember your pregnant belly or want to make a romantic lifelong keepsake for you and a partner.

You can recreate a body part and have the piercing or tattoo you always wanted, on the cast instead of you!

The ideas are endless and you are the subject.

Prices will depend on the size of the sculpture and the work involved and are by application.
